(mack-ah-rohn)
A meringue-based confectionery made with egg white, sugar, almond meal, and food coloring and/or extracts. Characterized by its smooth, domed top, flat base, and cute ruffled circumference (the feet!)
Definition of Feet:
The roughly quarter-inch of ruffled texture between the base and the dome of the macaron cookie. This is the main indication that all technical components were successful in order to create the perfect confection!
